How to increase the number of your followers on "TWITTER"

As you know the secret is in the list – you must have as many followers as you can.

The best way to increase the number of your followers begins in your account:
* Fill a picture of yourself or something interesting - people will trust you better.
* Fill out your profile and your interests.

Begin follow people on TWITTER

1.
Follow 200-250 people every day – app. 25% of them will follow you back. Don't rush.

2.
You can't follow more than 2k people till you'll have 2k followers so after 48 hours just remove those who are not following you. (It's easy to find them – just get into your "following" in your account and remove all those who didn't send you DM).

3.
Make positive @replies to 20-30 Twitters every day. "Twitter" wants to see your communication with others to check if you're social member.

4.
Now you need a tool that will help you manage your tweets and save you a lot of time.
Join "TWEET LATER" even if it's just for send an "auto welcome" to your followers, but there is a lot more than that.

5.
Don't follow people who follows you first till you'll pass the limit of 2k followers, after that follow back everyone.

6.
The best place to find followers is in the accounts of those who have 1000's of followers. Just get into their "followers" and begin follow them.

7.
A good source to find them is in two places –

http://twittercounter.com/?inc=100

http://wefollow.com/

8.
Tweet at least 5 times a day. You can use "TWEET LATER" to schedule your updates, they will do the work for you.

9.
If you'll follow those rules, probably in less than a month you'll have more than 2k followers.

10.
After you'll pass the limit of 2K followers pay attention that the difference between the people you're follow and your followers can't be more than 10%-15%. Keep deleting the un-followers.

Wish you success and GOOD LUCK with your business.

*** The Power of an Autoresponder ***

Read any internet marketing guru and they will tell you that the
fortune is in your list. You've got to have a list. Your list
is everything. They keep hammering it home. Know why? Because
it is true.

In fact, lack of list building is a key factor that keeps so
many information marketers from ever making any real money. The
reason is easy to understand. If you send someone to your site and
they don't buy anything, you've lost them.

If you send someone and they subscribe to the A Newsletter
so they can get the valuable marketing advice and free
bonuses, but don't buy anything, you've got their name. And now
you can do a lot more to turn those browsers into buyers.

Because you can follow up with them, establish a trusting
relationship, and show them offers that some percentage of them
will accept.

http://amig.aweber.com

Most experts these days are quoting a statistic that says 80% of
sales happen after the 7th exposure of a product. The average
prospect has to see or hear about your product for 7 times
before they are ready to buy.

When you capture their name and put them into an autoresponder
series, you can continually reinforce the your sitel and the quality
products within. This greatly increase the chances of your
making a sale to these folks down the road.

That is the power of an Autoresponder. It will keep following
up with these people, at regular intervals, to educate them
about internet marketing in general and how the products within your site can help them achieve their goals.

Your Home Business: Turning Pennies into Dollars

Henry Ford taught us that to simplify the manufacture ofautomobiles, that the best way to do so was to install theassembly line. That one change revolutionized the automanufacturing industry permitting the industry to build cars ata cost whereas the average person could afford to buy one.

The lesson we should take from this is that having the abilityto improve the process of getting the job quicker and cheaper, without compromising the quality of the job being done, willhelp catapult the person who simplified the process to the topof his/her field.

Pennies saved in your home business can turn into dollars at theend of the day, and dollars can quickly multiply into hundredsor thousands of dollars over time.

Doubt me if you will, but let me ask you a question. Do youthink a saving of two fifths of a penny could make any realdifference in the profit margin of a home business? Of coursethe right answer is "it depends on how many transactions aredone in a year, utilizing the savings of the two fifths of onepenny."

You only have to think back a couple of decades to reallyappreciate this question. Do you remember the nut that lived anddied in a Las Vegas hotel room? You know the one who was abillionaire, and was so worried about germs that he died ofstarvation? If you guessed Howard Hughes (1905-76), pat yourselfon the back.

Now Howard did not make all of his money on his two fifths ofone penny. He did however make a ton of money from his twofifths of one penny. It seems Howard owned a can manufacturingcompany. And one day, Howard`s team figured out how they couldmake one minor change in the design of their food can to reducethe amount of tin necessary to make a single can.

As the story goes --- if my memory serves me correctly --- thereduction in tin usage equaled a saving of two fifths of onepenny per can. Howard --- being the really smart businessmanthat he was --- decided that he would not be so greedy as tokeep all of the savings for himself. What Mr. Hughes did do wasto keep half of the savings for himself, and give the other halfto his customers. The incredible thing about Mr. Hughes decisionis that by saving his customers an extra one fifths of one centper can, he managed to take more market share away from hiscompetition --- netting his company an additional andsubstantial portion of the total market share in the canningindustry.

Let us return our thoughts to your home business. Have you evergotten the feeling of excitement --- when you read something orthought of something --- that you could not wait to implementthis new idea? This could be one of those moments...

In every home business, there are certain processes that we doover and again. Sometimes it may be possible to trim the time orexpense of a process which in turn will add pennies or dollarsto your bottom line. If it is a process that you do hundreds orthousands of times per month, then your savings will multiplyinto hundreds or thousands of dollars in monthly savings.

Imagine what running a home business was like BEFORE thecomputer...

Before the personal computer, we had to hand type all lettersand invoices. Now, we can setup a letter or invoice that we sendout quite often, and we can save it in our word processor sothat when we need to use it again, we can print it quickly andefficiently. There is no longer a need to type the documentagain from scratch.

The computer has simplified our business communications and hasprovided us the opportunity to reduce our costs of doingbusiness.

Think about all of the other processes that the computer hasenabled us to do for far less expense than what we could in thepast.

In this case, the computer is a tool that permits us to savetime and money.

So, my challenge to you is to begin examining the processes inyour own home business and look for ways in which you can saveyourself time and money. It is far better for you to contemplateon this matter than it is for me to do so for you. Simply put,you know your business better than anyone on the planet does. Therefore, you are in a better position than anyone to findthose extra dollars that will decrease your costs and increaseyour profits.

The extra pennies and dollars you could extract from yourbusiness could spell the difference between success and failurefor your home business enterprise.

Spam: Where it Came From, and How to Escape It

Posted by Tom Kulzer (AWeber CEO)

In 1936, long before the rise of the personal computer, Hormel Foods created SPAM. In 2002, the company will produce it’s six billionth can of the processed food product. But that mark was passed long ago in the world of Internet spam.

Who Cooked This!? (How did it all start?)
Why Does Bad Spam Happen to Good People?
Stop The Flood to Your Inbox
Stay Off Spammed Lists in the Future
Think You’re Not a Spammer? Be Sure.
The Final Blow

Who Cooked This!? (How did it all start?)
The modern meaning of the word “spam” has nothing to do with spiced ham. In the early 1990’s, a skit by British comedy group Monty Python led to the word’s common usage. “The SPAM Skit” follows a couple struggling to order dinner from a menu consisting entirely of Hormel’s canned ham.

Repetition is key to the skit’s hilarity. The actors cram the word “SPAM” into the 2.5 minute skit more than 104 times! This flood prompted Usenet readers to call unwanted newsgroup postings “spam.” The name stuck.

Spammers soon focused on e-mail, and the terminology moved with them. Today, the word has come out of technical obscurity. Now, “spam” is the common term for “Unsolicited Commercial E-Mail”, or “UCE.”

Why Does Bad Spam Happen to Good People?
Chances are, you’ve been spammed before. Somehow, your e-mail address has found it’s way into the hands of a spammer, and your inbox is suffering the consequences. How does this happen? There are several possibilities.

Backstabbing BusinessesBusinesses often keep lists of their customers’ e-mail addresses. This is a completely legitimate practice and, usually, nothing bad comes of it. Sometimes though, the temptation to make a quick buck is too great, and these lists are sold or rented to outside advertisers. The result? A lot of unsolicited e-mail, and a serious breach of trust.
Random Address GenerationComputer programs called random address generators simply “guess” e-mail addresses. Over 100 million hotmail addresses exist - howhard could it be to guess some of them? Unfortunately for many unsuspecting netizens - not too hard. Many spammers also guess at“standard” addresses, like “support@yourdomain.com”,“info@yourdomain.com”, and “billing@yourdomain.com.”
Web SpidersToday’s most insidious list-gathering tools are web spiders. All of the major search engines spider the web, saving information about each page. Spammers use tools that also spider the web, but save any e-mail address they come across. Your personal web page lists your e-mail address? Prepare for an onslaught!

Chat Room HarvestingISP’s offer vastly popular chat rooms where users are known only by their screen names. Of course, spammers know that your screen name is the first part of your e-mail address. Why waste time guessing e-mail addresses when a few hours of lurking in a chat room can net a list of actively-used addresses?

The Poor Man’s Bad Marketing IdeaIt didn’t work for the phone companies, and it won’t work for e-mail marketers. But, some spammers still keep their own friends-and-family-style e-mail lists. Compiled from the addresses of other known spammers, and people or businesses that the owner has come across in the past, these lists are still illegitimate. Why? Only you can give someone permission to send you e-mail. A friend-of-a-friend’s permission won’t cut it.

Stop The Flood to Your Inbox
Already drowning in spam? Try using your e-mail client’s filters - many provide a way to block specific e-mail addresses. Each time you’re spammed, block the sender’s address. Spammers skip from address to address, and you may be on many lists, but this method will at least slow the flow.

Also, use more than one e-mail address, and keep one “clean.” Many netizens find that this technique turns the spam flood into a trickle. Use one address for only spam-safe activities like e-mailing your friends, or signing on with trustworthy businesses. Never use your clean address on the web! Get a free address to use on the web and in chat rooms.
If nothing else helps, consider changing screen names, or opening an entirely new e-mail account. When you do, you’ll start with a clean, spam-free slate. This time, protect your e-mail address!

Stay Off Spammed Lists in the Future
Want to surf the web without getting sucked into the spam-flood? Prevention is your best policy. Don’t use an easy-to-guess e-mail address. Keep your address clean by not using it for spam-centric activities. Don’t post it on any web pages, and don’t use it in chat rooms or newsgroups.

Before giving your clean e-mail address to a business, check the company out. Are sections of its user agreement dedicated to anti-spam rules? Does a privacy policy explain exactly what will be done with your address? The most considerate companies also post an anti-spam policy written in plain English, so you can be absolutely sure of what you’re getting into.

Think You’re Not a Spammer? Be Sure.
Many a first-time marketer has inadvertently spammed his audience. The first several hundred complaints and some nasty phone messages usually stop him in his tracks. But by then, the spammer may be faced with cleanup bills from his ISP, and a bad reputation that it’s not easy to overcome.

The best way to avoid this situation is to have a clear understanding of what spam is: If anyone who receives your mass e-mails did not specifically ask to hear from you, then you are spamming them.

Stick with your gut. Don’t buy a million addresses for $10, no matter how much the seller swears by them! If something sounds fishy, just say no. You’ll save yourself a lot in the end.

The Final Blow
The online world is turning the tide on spam. In the end, people will stop sending spam because it stops working. Do your part: never buy from a spammer. When your business seeks out technology companies with which to work, only choose those with a staunch anti-spam stance.
Spam has a long history in both the food and e-mail sectors. This year, Hormel Foods opened a real-world museum dedicated to SPAM. While the museum does feature the Monty Python SPAM Skit, there’s no word yet on an unsolicited commercial e-mail exhibit. But, if all upstanding netizens work together, Hormel’s ham in a can will far outlive the Internet plague that is UCE.

Writing Your First Ad

Creating your first ad if you've never created one before can seem easy at first
but it takes some planning and forethought before you even begin to type. So,
before I even show you how to create a new ad on Adlandpro, I recommend
you read these guidelines from the book of our CEO "E-Business Success Blueprint"
written by Adlandpro.com CEO and Founder Bogdan Fiedur:

* A person needs to see a specific ad up to 7 times to feel familiar with it and
make a buying decision. Therefore, if your ad has only been seen once, you
shouldn't expect anyone to buy from you. They'll need to see it six more times to
feel comfortable enough to take advantage of your offer.

* We are more likely to buy an item if the product or service has been endorsed
by some known personality.

* People enjoy thinking about themselves most of the time. They think about
problems they have and things they want. Therefore, successful ads list
benefits.
They tell them what the product will do for them and what they will lose if they
don't have it.

* Everyone wants to get things cheaper than they are being sold for. Try
offering discounts for your first buying customers, or free delivery or free samples.

* We quite often make our decision based on direct embedded commands in the
surrounding environment. When you see a green light you proceed forward.
When you see a red light you stop. When someone looks at you and smiles you
will smile back. To take advantage of this, use commands in your ad. Say
something like Click Here or Select One Item from the list. People will
subconsciously follow your commands.

* People like to see other people who are enthusiastic and happy. Express
happiness in your ad and enthusiasm. Demonstrate how the product will bring
them happiness.

* The net feels very anonymous. It is harder to gain somebody's trust on the net
than in real life. Always display a phone number in the ad that customers can
call with any questions if they want.

Networking Your Home Business within Circles of Influence

When you need an auto mechanic or an air conditioning repairman, where do you turn for help? Sure, some people turn to the yellowpages. But most will turn to friends and family and ask if theyknow of anyone who can do the work.

The best place for your business to be positioned is to be thebusiness on the tips of the tongues of the people asked to makethe referral.

THE 300 RULE

Preachers, funeral directors and people in a few otherprofessions have learned "the 300 rule" through their ownpersonal experience.

"The 300 rule" states that the average person knows 300 peopleon a friendly level. Wedding planners tend to make reservationsfor 300 guests. Funeral directors tend to need to make room for300 mourners. You get the idea.

DOODLING WITH CIRCLES OF INFLUENCE

Imagine your circle of friends, family and acquaintances, a.k.a.your circle of influence. Now, draw your circle of influence asa circle on a blank piece of paper.

Next, contemplate the people in your parents` circle ofinfluence. Some people who know your parents also know you. Therefore, you will share some influence with the people yourfolks know. Now draw your parents` circle of influence on yourpiece of paper.

Your circle and your parents` circle will intersect in one area, although the larger majority of the two circles will notintersect. If you are like most people, the two circles on yourpage at this point looks very similar to the MasterCard logo.

Now imagine drawing a page full of intersecting circles, eachcircle representing the circle of influence of the people whoare within your own circle of influence. Imagine trying toencapsulate an accurate rendering of where your circle and thecircle of your friends will actually intersect.

Some circles will share a large area of space, while others willbarely cover one another.

Actually, you can only imagine at this point what your piece ofpaper will look like. The actual layout of the circles imaginedin this analogy is simply too overwhelming for the mind tocomprehend.

THE BIG PICTURE

300 multiplied by 300 equals 90,000. By using the analogy ofdoodles in the previous section, the average person can actuallynetwork with up to 90,000 people! Even factoring in the overlap, one can still probably network with 50,000 people through theirown circle of influence!

Simply amazing, isn`t it?

HERE IS THE SECRET TO YOUR SUCCESS

There are 300 people on this planet whom you have a reasonableamount of influence. Take advantage of this fact. Make darn surethat every person within your own circle of influence KNOWS thatyou are in business for yourself, and make sure they understandwhat your business offers.

When your friend is asked to make a referral, they willrecommend you.

PASSIVE VERSUS ACTIVE REFERRAL NETWORKING

When people ask your friends for a referral and your friendmentions your business, that is passive referral networking.

Active referral networking is when you can get your friends godirectly to their friends and say "Hey, I have a friend who juststarted a business. If you are in need of what he offers or youknow someone who will need his services, would you please givemy friend a call or make the referral to his business?"

If you can get even a portion of the people in your own circleof influence to actively refer your business, then you havebuilt the foundation to build an advertising campaign even moreeffective than the average local television advertising campaign.

Think about that for a moment.

Most people only dream of reaching 50,000 potential customerswith their television advertising dollars. You now have theknowledge to reach 50,000 people without spending a single penny.

Do You Really Need More Than One Program?

We've been talking lately about the RIGHT kind of affiliate programs and the WRONG kind of affiliate programs.

Let's shift our focus today to the NUMBER of affiliate programs you promote. This is also a very importantconsideration.

The fact is that there are many people who are a member of TOO FEW affiliate programs and there are many people who area member of TOO MANY. There are only a handful of people whohave found the magic "sweet spot" right in the middle and those are the happy people who are making the most money.

Why is TOO FEW affiliate programs a problem?

Joining too few affiliate programs is a problem for 3 MAJORreasons:

#1. The bottom line is that you absolutely, positively MUST start earning multiple streams of income. One income stream, even 2 is not enough in today's world. If you are onlyrelying on you job as your main source of income right now, you're a sitting duck for a financial disaster. If you lose your job or your health, God forbid, you could be in bigtrouble financially. Most people are just one paycheck awayfrom bankruptcy.

Affiliate marketing is the same way. If you're relying onjust one or two affiliate programs to pull in the bulk of your income, you're extremely vulnerable. Even if you've built up a big residual income in a program, if it goes outof business so do you. I had one program a couple of years ago that I was earning $5,000+ per month from and then circumstances happened with the program where they had to cancel all recurring billings... I lost $60,000+ a year inincome in the blink of an eye! You absolutely, positively MUST develop multiple streams of income to be secure intoday's world.

#2. Joining only one or two affiliate program does not give you enough experience to compare strengths and weaknesses ofdifferent programs. It leaves you being unaware of different possibilities and that's very dangerous to your fiscalhealth.

#3. There's is a saying that "If all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail." If you only have one or two different products or programs to promote, that's not enough to solve the many different problems people will becoming to you for. You need to have a variety of tools in your affiliate tool box so you can pull out the right one at the right time for the right person. If you don't, you'll be leaving money on the table. It's that simple.

Why is TOO MANY affiliate programs a problem?

Joining too many affiliate programs is a problem for 2 MAJOR reasons:

#1. You'll get way too distracted. Focus has great power and if you have too many things to think about at one time, you'll get confused. When you're confused, you don't take action. When you don't action, you don't make money.

#2. People won't take you seriously. If you're promoting everything and anything, people will sense your lack of sincerity and have no desire to do business with you. One of the big secrets to affiliate marketing success is promoting things you have some experience with and believe in.

But there a magic "sweet spot" some where in the middle of having enough products and programs to promote that keep you diversified and capable of solving multiple problems forpeople.

For example, if you get 100 people to visit your website and only have one product you're promoting and your website successfully converts 1 out of 100 visitors to a sale, then you've made 1 sale. But if you have a couple more products on your site that are related but different, you may find that you get 3-5 people out of 100 who buy from you because they find other things that solve their problems. So just having a few different options for people can multiply your income 300% or more without any additional effort.

In my experience, 5-6 different affiliate programs in a niche is the generally the best starting point. This gives you enough experience with different programs to compare their strengths and weaknesses. It gives you enough diversity so you can offer your prospects the right solutionat the right time. And it broadens your own affiliate portfolio enough so that you can survive a disaster JUST INCASE one of the affiliate programs you are promoting fallson hard times.

That's also why the Plug-In Profit Site system includes 6 of the most respected affiliate programs online in the "work athome" niche market. They are all proven programs with a longand successful track-record for helping people make money online. They are the cream that has risen to the top for me personally after testing hundreds of different affiliate programs since I started this journey back in 1999. You canreview these 6 affiliate programs yourself in Step 1 about midway down on this page:http://getresponse.com/click.html?x=a62a&lc=IyQj&mc=f&s=Hi996&y=L&

No matter what niche market you are in, I encourage you to diversify your affiliate portfolio and get at least 5-6 high quality, top paying affiliate programs to promote inorder to ensure your short-term and long-term success.

How to Win the Advertising and Promotion Game

I am certain that, as a business owner, you have oftenentertained the question as to how much to spend and where tospend your advertising dollars. For most small business owners, these questions can add to the headaches suffered in the courseof normal everyday operations of their business.

THERE ARE NO SIMPLE ANSWERS

The how much to spend and where to spend it questions have noeasy answers.

Depending on your type of business, many people suggest that the*how much* should be equal to anywhere from 4% to 10% of yourgross receipts.

The quandary is that a business cannot survive without a freshflow of incoming customers. But, a business can seldom generatea fresh stream of customers without spending money to get theword out about their business.

THE CHALLENGE OF DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE ADVERTISING

Have you ever paid for advertising and sat back to await thefresh flow of customers, only to find yourself sitting andsitting and then sitting some more?

Don't feel bad about that. It has happened to many of us before.

See, knowing where to spend the advertising money is not enoughto get the job done.

Where to spend the money only begins to highlight the otherissues connected with advertising:

· Marketing Plan· Advertising Strategy· Headlines, Ad Copy and Visual Presentation· Tracking the Success of Your Advertising Campaigns

THE MARKETING PLAN

The Marketing Plan is used primarily to identify your ownproducts and services, costs, strengths, weaknesses and thestrengths and weaknesses of your competitors.

ADVERTISING STRATEGY

It is important to understand what you expect to gain from youradvertising.

Do you simply wish to get your name known so that when yourcustomer will need you, they will think of you first? Or, do youwish to get your customers in your front door on Saturday?

Do you want your customers to come in and take a look around todiscover the next object that they cannot live without? Or, doyou want them to come in and buy a specific widget?

Do you hope that enough people will come in to buy enoughproducts or services to pay for your single ad? Or, do youexpect to gain a lifelong customer who will help pay for youradvertising over the course of several years?

When you know what you want, then you will better understandjust how to do it.

HEADLINES, AD COPY AND VISUAL PRESENTATION

You might be surprised how many business owners put outadvertising without regard for the quality of the sales pitch orpresentation. The quality of your distribution outlet or theamount of money you spent to get there will do little for you ifthe advertising vehicle is a junker.

Test all of your advertising materials in smaller markets beforeblowing your advertising bank roll on it. You must absolutelyknow the value of your advertising before putting large sums ofmoney behind it.

TRACKING THE SUCCESS OF YOUR ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS

Tell your customers to save another 10% when they tell you theyheard or saw your ad in such-and-such location. Suggest thatthey can register to win a free widget if they fill out a formand have them to tell you how they heard of your business.Advertise a specific widget in your ad and track the sales ofthat widget.

It does not matter how you track your advertising --- just makesure you do it!

IN SUMMARY

The ideal way to spend your advertising budget is to buy a riflewith a high-powered scope and to only shoot your targets in thelight of day.

If you are not tracking your advertising, then you are shootinga pellet gun without an attached scope, with blinders on, andshooting in the dead darkness of night.

Even with a bigger gun, the blinders in the dark constitute thesingle largest mistake made by advertisers. If you are unable totrack your advertising to learn what is working well, what isworking somewhat, and what is a money pit, then you arecondemned to repeat your mistakes over and again.

By relying only on gut instinct, you may be choosing to spendmore money in the money pit and to lose all of your money in theprocess.

When you get down to the nuts and bolts of making money fromyour advertising, you should plan, prepare, track and study yourresults. You must have factual information on which to base youradvertising decisions. When you are making the right advertisingdecisions, then making money from your business might just comeeasy.

Tips for Reviewing and Filtering AdSense Ads

The process by which the Google AdSense program reviews and filtersads for their participating sites is a semi-automated one. Googlehas put in place strict policies for the content of its ads, including bans on profanity and racially discriminatory content. These types of ads are automatically filtered out and will not beincluded on any participating site.

In addition to this automatic ad filtering, owners of participatingsites are free to block ads they or their visitors may findoffensive. This filtering is done through the use of customfilters, and it is somewhat different than simply blocking a singleadvertiser (although that is possible as well). These filters aregenerally easy to use, and Google provides good assistance to theirmember sites in order to ensure only wanted ads are posted on themember sites.

Although it happens quite rarely, there are times that Google'sautomated algorithms for determining web site content are not ableto make a good match of ads to the web site pages. In those cases, the publisher of the web site will be permitted to choose his orher own ads. If this does happen and you fail to make a choice, the site will automatically host a number of public serviceadvertisements.

One of the best things about the Google AdSense program is that thelook and feel of the ads can easily be customized in order toprovide a consistent look and feel to the content on the web site. One of the key concepts of effective web design is to providevisitors to the web site with a consistent look and feel. Thisincludes making sure that the same colors are used throughout allthe pages, making sure that the fonts are consistent and being sureto make the navigation of the web site as intuitive and simple aspossible.

Fitting the ads served by Google AdSense into this equation isgenerally a simple process, and a number of tools are provided tomake it easy to customize the look and feel of the ads beingserved. For instance, the Google AdSense program allows web siteowners to customize the color and layout of the ads in order to bemore consistent with the rest of the site.

Web site owners arefree to choose from the options provided or to apply a customlayout and color to the ads. The advertisers do not have controlover this process; once their ads appear on your site you are freeto customize the text and control how it looks. This is a bigadvantage of the Google AdSense program, and one that many web siteowners would not want to do without.

Since the customization of Google AdSense content is so easy to do,it is important for all web site owners to carefully consider howto format the ads they host. It is a good idea to periodicallyreview the web site, and the targeted ads contained on the site, inorder to make sure that the ads served are appropriate.

At the same time, it is a good idea to look at the overall look and feelof the web site, not only the ads themselves but how they fit intothe overall look and feel of the web site. It is important thatthe ads not look jarring or out of place. If the ads do stick out, reformatting them to more closely match the look of the web siteitself should help a lot. It is best for the ads to be unobtrusivebut still easy to notice for the casual web site visitor.

This type of web site testing should be a staple activity for theowner or manager of any web based business. It is important toperiodically go back to the web site with the eyes of a potentialvisitor. Look at things like how easy the site is to use andnavigate, how intuitive it is, and of course how relevant the adsare to the content. This type of review, of both ad copy and website content, is a great way to keep the site fresh and relevantmonth after month and year after year.

Internet Promotion Techniques 101

Did you realize there are only three types of onlinepromotion?... This statement may seem odd and even untrue inyour mind, but I am speaking in more general terms than youmight be thinking.

Let me explain.

The three types of promotion are Junk, Active and Passivepromotions.

JUNK PROMOTIONS ARE MONEY PITS

Junk promotions are those that seem to produce results, but bytheir very nature are really only illusionary promotions.

For example, let me begin with FFA (Free For All) pages. Youmight find yourself subscribing to a submission program thattricks you into believing you are submitting your links to tensof thousands search engines.

According to the Open Directory website, they have only approved1705 search engines and directories for inclusion in theirdatabase (http://getresponse.com/click.html?x=a62a&lc=Ik67&mc=f&s=Hi996&y=K&

I like using the DMOZ directory as an example because submittedlinks are tested by human beings with integrity, for the honestyused in site description. Search Engine Watch and other searchwatchers tend to show fewer than these 1705 engines, primarilybecause a lot of the engines provide very little value.

Yes, you can submit your URL to a FFA page, but FFA's usuallyonly permit 100 or 1000 links on their page at any one time. So,if ten thousand people are submitting a link to an FFA page on adaily basis, then the average life of your link is between sevenminutes and 144 minutes. I suspect the actual number ofsubmitters is much higher and the results are much worse. Giventhat few people surf FFA pages, the chances of your submissionbeing of any real value is practically nill!

Most of the people telling you that you can submit your site totens of thousands of search engines are truly only submittingyour site to FFA pages! Beware of the false promises.

Another junk promotion method is Safe Lists. A safe list is amailing group that is signed up to be received by people whowant to submit their own ads. Now, most safe lists havethousands of subscribers who are able to submit their ads dailyor weekly. The person signed up to receive the list will receiveanywhere from twenty to 140+ messages a day from the list. Thesemessages will be received by people only interested in promotingtheir own thing who do not have the right motivation to open, let alone read Your Advertising. As a result, thousands ofmessages go out daily or weekly that will never be seen byanyone but the sender of the ad. Where is the value in that? There is none.

ACTIVE PROMOTIONS

Active promotions are the type that require you to go out on adaily basis or a weekly basis and put out your advertisements. With active promotions, you will either place your advertisingor you will not sell your products or services. Your choice issimple --- work or starve.

Examples of active promotions include Pay Per Click SearchEngines (PPCSE's), Direct Email, Ezine Advertising, Solo EzineAds, Newsletter Publishing, Ezine Ad Swaps, Classified Ads,Auctions, Site Sponsorship and Banner Ads.

Some people are able to utilize these methods very productively, while others are destined to drop their money into thebottomless pit of failed Internet promotions.

PASSIVE PROMOTIONS

Passive promotions are those promotions that can continue toprovide results for you long after you have invested the work tomake them available to the Internet community.

Examples of passive promotions include: Link Exchanges,Articles, Ebooks, Content Exchanges and Writing Testimonials forothers.

Let's look at articles as a solid example of my point.

You are reading an article that I have written to promote my ownbusiness. This article is timeless and therefore could have beenwritten five years ago and still have been as valuable as it istoday.

Due to the fact that the article is timeless, it can and will beplaced in newsletters/ezines and their accompanying onlinearchives, on websites and in ebooks for many more years to come.

As a result, this article will continue to serve me well beyondthe time in which I wrote it and submitted it to publishers andwebmasters for public consumption and publication.

This is the best example I can give you of an excellent passivepromotional method.

AVOID THE MONEY PITS

Many try and even fewer succeed to conquer the Internet and toproduce their dreams of online wealth.

My hope is that you will be one of the people who conquer thechallenges before you and to make a nice living while workingonline. It will take drive, determination, study plus trial anderror, but you can make it work for you.

Please continue to educate yourself so that you can avoid themoney pits - instead, strive to find the money barrels. It canbe done. I am living proof.

Offline Promotion Strategies 101

Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
http://getresponse.com/click.html?x=a62a&lc=Iq7U&mc=f&s=Hi996&y=4&

No business can survive the long run without some form ofconsistent advertising. As a result, most business owners willeventually consider using advertising to promote their business.

The toughest part of the advertising equation is in determiningwhere and how to spend your advertising dollars. If you do itwrong, you could plunk down your entire advertising budget andreceive absolutely no return on your investment. But, if you doit right, your advertising could continue to bring a nice returnfor years to come.

HOW DO I MAKE THE RIGHT ADVERTISING DECISIONS

In order to make good decisions concerning how to spend youradvertising budget, you must first have a good understanding ofthe different types of advertising and promotion available andwhat can be expected to be achieved by each.

· You must understand which markets the different media`s canreach.· You must understand the demographics of the media`sconsumers.· You must understand the buying habits of the consumersreached through the media.

WHAT OFFLINE ADVERTISING & PROMOTION MEDIA`S SHOULD BE CONSIDERED

The media`s that people think of most often are television, radio, newspaper and magazine advertising. Of course, these arethe big boys that big businesses use regularly.

Other methods of promotion include trade shows, press releases, direct sales, telemarketing, word of mouth, branding andbillboard advertising.

CONSIDERING THE BIG MEDIA OUTLETS

The big boys of advertising media`s generally cost big bucks.Given certain circumstances, the big media`s can be bought forvery little money.

Take for example, television, radio and newspapers cost bigbucks during their prime times, but can be bought for pennies onthe dollar during non-primetime hours.

Television primetime is between 7pm and 10pm. Radio primetime isbetween 7am and 6pm. With newspapers, the primetime isWednesdays and Sundays.

If you intend to hit a media during prime time, get ready todrop some bucks. Primetime means that you will be able to hitmore consumers during these times. So, in most cases, aprimetime buy will enable you to reach more people with youradvertising.

Non-primetime hours can still deliver a lot of eyes and ears toyour message, and sometimes, these off-hours can be bought for abargain basement price.

GETTING MILEAGE FROM EVENTS

Trade shows and press releases are more event-driven. The tradeshow is the event, while the press release generally exploits anevent.

Trade shows are an exceptional tool when you deal directly withpotential sellers of your products or services. Other shows aredirected at the consumer, and those can be very valuable avenuesfor sales as well.

The press release is aimed towards gaining attention for abusiness by distributing newsworthy information about thebusiness.

Sometimes the appearance of a business at a trade show or othershow can provide the necessary angle for a press release. Butmost often, a successful press release will actually requiremore noteworthy information than the appearance of a business ata show.

Yet, even the most mundane of information could be spiced up togive the real air of importance necessary to get your pressrelease read and printed.

The great thing about a press release is that might permit youto get relatively inexpensive promotion on television, radio, newspapers and magazines; for far less than what it would costyou to buy advertising in those same outlets.

UTILIZING A SALES TEAM

Depending on what type of business you run and the consumers youare trying to reach, you might find direct sales andtelemarketing to be very lucrative ways to drive sales to yourbusiness.

Both are very similar in nature. Direct sales can be veryexpensive, as it requires a great investment of time toaccomodate. Telemarketing seeks to minimize the timeexpenditure, but it often leads to a smaller degree of respectand attention.

Depending on your product or service --- and always dependingupon the people you employ to the task --- each method will bemore suited to each business on an individual basis.

BRANDING YOUR BUSINESS

I grouped branding and billboard advertising together in myoriginal list for a reason. I did this because billboardadvertising serves most businesses best by helping to supportthe process of branding.

Branding is the process of establishing your business as thesupplier of a certain product or service, or in emphasizing acertain USP (Unique Selling Proposition) as it pertains to yourbusiness.

If branding and USP seems to be a confusing concept, think aboutWal-Mart and their tag line: "Always Low Prices, Always."

Think about Ford Motors, "Quality is Job One."

Think about the Visa Card, "It`s Everywhere You Want To Be."

You see, these top corporations have managed to make their USPpart of their branding.

Even if you are only competing in a local marketplace, your USPcan and should fit snugly into your branding strategy.

NO MATTER THE MEDIA OR METHOD

Whichever method or media you should choose to employ in youradvertising and promotion, you should become knowledgable aboutyour market, and the consumers reached by each media. It isimportant to understand which consumers can be reached by acertain media, and in what quantities.

However you choose to spend your advertising dollars, you shouldalways track the results of your promotional efforts. Failing totrack successes and failures will ultimately lead to the failureof a business.

When you know whom you are trying to reach and how you think youmight be able to reach them, you will begin to learn how to useadvertising and promotion to make your business successful. Thatis a good thing --- after all, that is why you got into thebusiness in the first place, isn`t it?
